Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Property Accountant to manage the financial operations of a portfolio of properties in West Palm Beach, Florida. This role requires a highly organized individual with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of property accounting and real estate financial practices. The successful candidate will act as a vital link between property management and corporate finance teams, ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting across all properties.
Responsibilities:
- Review and validate monthly financial statements prepared by property management teams, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Conduct detailed analyses of property financial performance and provide variance explanations to management.
- Process funding requests and confirm adherence to budgeted cash flows and financial protocols.
- Manage real estate tax payments and collaborate with external tax consultants to ensure timely compliance.
- Monitor cash flow activities, including balances, transfers, and distributions for assigned properties.
- Oversee general ledger reviews, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations to maintain data accuracy.
- Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial reports for stakeholders and investors.
- Participate in annual budgeting and forecasting processes to support property portfolio planning.
- Provide support for audits and contribute to year-end financial reporting requirements. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of property accounting experience within residential or commercial real estate.
- Proficiency in Yardi, RealPage, and advanced Microsoft Excel functions such as pivot tables and formulas.
- Comprehensive knowledge of full-cycle property accounting, including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
