Position Description: Legal Intern
This is a seasonal position that will run from May to August, up to 40 hours a week.
Job Description
The Doran Group’s Legal Intern will assist the legal department with all legal aspects of the business, including supporting attorneys in drafting and reviewing real estate contracts and leases, vendor service agreements, compliance documentation and internal compliance audits.
Responsibilities will include one of more of the following:
• Research and analysis in the areas of real estate law, employment law and general corporate law.
• Collaborate with construction and architecture teams to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
• Support property management team in the creation of policies and procedures.
• Provide administrative support to the legal team, such as organizing documents, maintaining files, and managing correspondence.
• Attend and participate in meetings with in-house counsel for additional hands-on experience.
• Other duties as may be necessary to support General Counsel, President and Director of Operations.
Requirements
Position Requirements
• Currently enrolled in the second year of a three-year law school program.
• Excellent academic record in law school and undergraduate studies.
• Relevant course work preferred.
• Candidates must have the ability to work full time in the summer. Part time work during the following school year may also be available.
• Excellent attention to detail, research, organization and communication skills
• Candidates must be able to work in the United States for indefinite period without sponsorship
