The Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) functions as a member of the health care team to provide appropriate basic care based on the ages of the patient served. This includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, providing nourishments and observing patients for physical/emotional changes. Communicates with other team members to ensure continuity of care. The CNA works with and follows the direction of the team Registered Nurse. The CNA reports to the Director of Medical/Surgical Unit, Post Critical Care/Intensive Care Unit, Obstetrics/Nursery Unit, and Extended Care unit depending on their home department.
High School graduate or equivalent preferred
Prefer one-year clinical experience
Current Nursing Assistant certification with the State of Illinois
BLS certification through AHA required
