The Mulerider Athletics Department at Southern Arkansas University is seeking an Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance.
Duties: Certify eligibility for all sports; monitor coaches’ activities relative to rules compliance; interact with departmental staff members and coaches to ensure compliance with NCAA rules and regulations; serve as a liaison between SAU coaches and the NCAA Legislative Services, NCAA Eligibility Center, Admissions Office, and Registrar’s Office; collect and monitor CARA logs weekly from each head coach of their respective sport; maintain Declaration of Playing Seasons from all sports; manage compliance software – Teamworks; organize and conduct continuing rules education programming regarding NCAA and Great American Conference rules with coaches; compile and maintain the CA 2.0 program; manage transfer requests for outgoing and incoming student-athletes; prepare and submit appeals and waivers, including medical hardship eligibility requests; act as the liaison between coaches, NCAA, GAC, and the University regarding all compliance and eligibility issues; report all violations of rules to the Director of Athletics for investigation/review; and other duties as assigned. The Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance will report directly to the Director of Athletics. This position will require evening and weekend duties, game day administration, along with some travel requirements.
Qualifications: bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred; collegiate experience preferred; proven ability to lead and manage people; possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability and success in NCAA DII rules knowledge and management.
