Job Description + Analyze abstracts of title, legal documents, and public records to assess and verify the status of title for commercial properties. + Prepare thorough and accurate title commitments in alignment with company policies and underwriter standards. + Investigate and resolve title-related issues such as liens, encumbrances, and discrepancies in ownership. + Collaborate with attorneys, clients, underwriters, and internal teams to clarify title concerns and facilitate resolution. + Maintain organized and up-to-date documentation for all title files and issued commitments. + Support curative efforts and coordinate with abstractors and legal professionals to address outstanding title matters. Skills land surveying, title documentation, commercial real estate, legal document, document processing, public records, underwriting, title insurance Additional Skills & Qualifications + Background within Register of Deeds or accessors is preferred + Abstractor's title - preferred + Examiner experience - preferred + Individual with strong attention to detail + Must be self-motivated and work independently + Will have little public face to face interaction - must be comfortable at a desk all day + ITG (Iowa Title Guaranty) experience + Document preparation + Examining + Abstracting Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $31.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
