The Technical Writer will be responsible for independently developing, researching, reviewing, and updating system security and system documentation. This role involves evaluating IT systems, ensuring documentation meets regulatory standards, creating and updating Information Assurance artifacts, and participating in relevant meetings.

Responsibilities:
- Develop, research, review, and update all system security and system documentation.
- Evaluate IT systems and ensure documentation meets requirements set by OMB, NIST, and FedRAMP standards and guidance, including FISMA reporting requirements.
- Create and update Information Assurance artifacts.
- Perform all duties within the Governance Risk and Compliance Tool (GRCT).
- Update all cybersecurity documentation.
- Attend all related IT and Cybersecurity meetings.
- Attend quarterly Risk Management Workshops, identify, track, maintain, and update action items & statuses.
- Collaborate with staff and team members on documentation review.
- Capture all meeting minutes and make them available to staff within specified timeframes.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the development of system security documents.
- Thorough understanding of terminology, usage, operating characteristics of hardware, software, and operating components of information systems.
- Knowledge of governmental policies and industry standards related to Information Technology Architecture.
- Knowledge of system security controls listed under NIST 800-53 Rev 4 and/or upcoming revisions.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of Federal enterprise policies and procedures from OMB, NIST and DHS.
- Knowledge of FedRAMP Security Controls Baseline.
- Knowledge of GAO Government Auditing Standards.
- 4+ years of experience as a Technical Writer.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, English, Language/Writing or related field.
