Job Description

We are seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead the implementation and integration of AVEVA PI and other Distributed Control System (DCS) technologies. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, regulatory compliance knowledge, and strong project management skills. The ideal candidate will have experience overseeing software implementations within life sciences manufacturing and a deep understanding of industrial automation and process control systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation and integration of AVEVA PI and related DCS technologies.
  • Manage software deployment, ensuring alignment with Aveva PI manufacturing data historian systems or similar: Aspen Tech IP.21, GE Proficy Historian, Honeywell PHD, Rockwell FactoryTalk Historian, or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) like SAP ME, Siemens Opcenter, Seeq, etc.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, including GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and CSV (Computer System Validation) requirements.
  • Work with Operational Technology (OT) teams to align hardware and software needs for infrastructure-heavy projects.
  • Provide expertise in Unified Namespace (UNS) architecture and automated test tools, with a strong preference for hands-on implementation experience.
  • Act as a liaison between IT and business teams, tailoring communication styles for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver presentations for leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Drive project timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 6-9 years of experience in technical project management, particularly in software implementations and integrations within industrial settings.
  • Proven expertise with AVEVA PI or other manufacturing data historians.
  • Experience in life sciences, pharma, biotech, or medical device manufacturing is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements, including GMP and CSV.
  • Familiarity with Unified Namespace (UNS) concepts and automated test tools implementation.
  • Experience working with DCS (Distributed Control Systems), including both hardware and software.
  • Excellent soft skills: proactive thinking, accountability, ability to communicate effectively across technical and business teams, and stakeholder presentation skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with automated test tools and prior implementations.
  • Exposure to cloud-based industrial data solutions.
  • Background in digital transformation projects within manufacturing.
