Job Description

A prestigious business management firm seeks a Tax Accountant to join their dynamic team. The selected candidate is influential in the process of preparing tax returns and assisting clients with various tax matters. The Tax Accountant gathers and reviews client tax documents to prepare necessary individual, partnership, estate, corporate, and/or trust tax returns. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of common tax rules, tax compliance, and tax regulations. This person is also knowledgeable in tax accounting principles. You are a confident and professional communicator, with exceptional time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of federal and multi-state income tax returns.
• Partner closely with high-net-worth individuals, large family groups, and family offices to handle tax work papers for their businesses, investments and estate planning entities.
• Prepare tax accounting adjustments and financial statements for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates.
• Prepare personal, corporate, partnership, and estate/trust tax returns of varying complexity.
• Understand client tax issues and situations and assist with tax research.
• Identify and recommend tax strategies that better position a client’s understanding of tax law.
• Understand client tax issues/situations and assist with tax research.
• Correspondence with tax authorities, and/or IRS inquiries. Draft responses to governmental queries, notes, or mandates.
• Assist other team members with tax responsibilities, as necessary.
• Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Taxation, Accounting, Finance, or related field from an accredited institution preferred.
• 1+ years of experience at a public accounting firm is preferred.
• Experience working with tax preparation software such as BNA and CCHAxcess.
• Licensed CPA or Enrolled Agent preferred.
• Extensive experience with real estate and partnership tax compliance and consulting preferred.
