Job Description

Overview:

The Post Oak Hotel is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the only double Forbes Five-Star Hotel in Texas. We hire passionate and professional colleagues who genuinely delight our guests through curated and authentic experiences.

The Staff Accountant maintains and controls the General Ledger accounts through review of financial records while providing information and assistance to the Accounting Manager, Assistant Director of Finance and Director of Finance.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervises the accuracy verification of Front Office, Food and Beverage and other revenue center activities
  • Monitors and supports the income audit process, covers on days off
  • Prepares and posts journal entries
  • Assists in end of month closing activities
  • Prepares and reviews Balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Prepares and completes bank account reconciliations
  • Supports Accounting Manager with day-to-day tasks (as assigned)
Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1+ years of Income Audit preferred
  • Degree in Business Administration or Hospitality Management or relevant field.
  • Ability to handle data with confidentiality
  • Previous hotel experience, luxury or Forbes experience preferred
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays is required
  • Physical demands: sedentary work – exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
