About the role
As part of Kerry’s North America Taste Regulatory Scientific Affairs team, this role will provide regulatory and technical expertise in the application and commercialization of new flavor technologies. The ideal candidate will serve as a strategic regulatory partner, ensuring compliance while strengthening and protecting Kerry Taste’s brand equity.
We are seeking a collaborative and proactive team player with strong communication skills and deep flavor regulatory expertise. This individual will contribute to Kerry’s success by providing critical regulatory guidance, supporting product innovation, and fostering strong cross-functional relationships.
Key responsibilities
• Provide regulatory advisement on flavor and food regulations, with a focus on delivery systems, including emulsions, extractions, and other applications.
• Apply regulatory expertise to flavors with modification properties and taste modification technologies.
• Develop and author regulatory documentation for both domestic and international markets, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
• Actively engage with trade associations and regulatory committees to influence industry standards and stay ahead of regulatory trends. Experience working with Flavor & Extract Manufacturers Association (FEMA) is highly desirable.
• Identify and develop solutions to key regulatory challenges across all project stages, from bench-top prototypes to large-scale commercialization.
• Seek opportunities to enhance efficiencies within the regulatory process, collaborating across teams to optimize workflows.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external regulatory stakeholders.
• Provide regulatory expertise and partner closely with cross-functional teams, including Quality, R&D, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Sensory.
Qualifications and skills
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Nutrition, Animal Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in food/flavor regulatory affairs or a related field. • Strong working knowledge of FDA/USDA regulations pertaining to food, flavors, and dietary supplement applications. Global food law experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneNote, Access). Experience with SAP, Optiva, SharePoint, or other regulatory software is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present and communicate regulatory matters across multiple levels of the organization.
• Excellent project management and research skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Critical thinker with strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally, build strong relationships, and contribute to a team-oriented culture.
• A self-starter who thrives in a high-growth environment, continuously seeks improvement, and is motivated to make a meaningful impact.
• Willingness to travel 10-25% as required.
The typical hiring range for this role is $64,479 to $95,074 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements.
