The Service Solutions team within Barringer provides general contracting services for select projects including maintenance work for new and existing clients.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: As a Service Technician at Barringer Construction, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional quality and service throughout each project. Your attention to detail, ethical conduct, and competitive drive will contribute to our reputation for delivering outstanding results. The ideal candidate will possess 3 to 5 years of experience in construction and maintenance, demonstrating their ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues efficiently.

  • Manage routine inspections, installations, and repairs on a variety of construction projects, including but not limited to carpentry, fixture installation, and general maintenance in relation to construction divisions 06, 08, 09, and 12.

  • Manage subcontractors and occasionally self-perform services that may include:
  • Metal & Wood Framing
  • Carpentry
  • Cabinetry repair and installation
  • Paint and wall covering
  • Leaks and water damage
  • Drywall patch and repair
  • Picture hanging and room reorganization
  • Door, frames and hardware installation
  • Ceiling tile/grid repair, replacement, and installation
  • Appliance and fixture installation/repair
  • Furniture and partition installation/repair

  • Maintain clear lines of communication with the Service Team and subcontractors to ensure everyone is aware of project status.

  • Effective professional communication skills

Education and/or Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience in construction or maintenance work. Certification or training in relevant technical areas (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry) is a plus.

Language Skills: Ability to read, hear and follow instructions.

Math Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and measure.

Reasoning Ability: Willingness to take direction from the team. Ability to deal with a variety of customers, co-workers and subcontractors. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, blueprint/plan or schedule form. Ability to complete tasks accurately, safely and within given schedule. Ability to understand and speak English. Fluency in another language is a plus.

Physical Demands: This job is primarily conducted at customer locations requiring construction service or maintenance work. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to talk, hear, visually observe and move around service job sites. The employee may occasionally be required to climb ladders and lift or move up to 50 lbs alone or heavier weights with a partner(s). The employee will be required to use hand tools and power tools to complete service work. Employee will be required to have a valid NC driver license and to safely operate a company truck.
