Job Title: Senior Paralegal and Legal Operations Manager

Department: Office of General Counsel

Location: Sierra Club office, and/or remote. This position requires an ability to travel.

Reports To: General Counsel of General Administration

Supervises: N/A

Scope: We are seeking a dynamic professional to serve in a multi-functional hybrid role in the Office of the General Counsel combining responsibilities of Corporate Paralegal, Executive Support and Legal Operations Manager. This strategic position supports the General Counsel of General Administration, and ensures legal and operational excellence within a fast-paced organization.

Job activities include but are not limited to:

  • Corporate Paralegal
  • Draft, review, and manage legal documents, contracts, intellectual property registrations and corporate filings
  • Support General Counsel of General Administration in preparation for Board and committee meetings
  • Assist with policy drafting and revision, compliance, licensing renewals,
  • Conduct legal research and support litigation or transactional matters as needed
  • Legal Operations
  • Organize and manage legal processes, including tracking and prioritizing legal requests
  • Implement platforms and systems to increase Office of General Counsel efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline and automate workflows
  • Assist with management of legal vendors, contracts, budgets, and departmental spend
  • Innovate and scale legal operations, evaluating new technology as needed
  • Executive Support
  • Oversee and help execute strategic cross-functional organizational initiatives and projects
  • Streamline internal processes and improve operational efficiency
  • Assist executives with decision-making, program management, and internal communications
  • Serve as a liaison among executives, staff, and external partners
  • Identify organizational gaps and help develop solutions
  • Identify conference and symposia to attend and participate

The strongest candidates will also demonstrate the following skills, experience and competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Advanced degree or paralegal certification preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in at least two of the following: corporate paralegal, executive support, legal operations

Compensation And Benefits

The salary for this position is $125,000, annually.

The Sierra Club offers a competitive salary package commensurate with skills and experience plus excellent benefits that include medical, dental, and vision coverage, and a retirement savings 401(k) plan.

This is a category 4, exempt, non-represented, confidential and professional position.
