Job Responsibilities:
As a Senior Kubernetes Engineer , you will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining secure and resilient Kubernetes environments for our application teams. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our platform is easy to use, reliable, and resistant to disruptions. By incorporating good DevSecOps practices, you will help improve the overall security and stability of our Kubernetes clusters. You will ensure that the platform enables application developers to deliver value while exceeding customer needs for stability and security.
Typical duties include the following:
· Creation and sustainment of Kubernetes clusters
· Installation, configuration, testing, and sustainment of DevSecOps tools
· Integration and automation of the DevSecOps tools to enable CI/CD
· Implementing automation in cluster and tool creation
· Implementing process and procedures for utilizing the DevSecOps pipeline
· Maintenance of the DevSecOps pipeline to ensure availability to the software developers
· Rapid resolution of DevSecOps pipeline issues
· Position may require at times, night and/or weekend work to maintain a secure and resilient system
Minimum Qualifications:
· IAT Level II Certification (CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP)
· 12 or more years of directly related IT experience
· 5 or more years of experience working with containerized and/or cloud platforms and implementing DevSecOps practices
· 3 or more years of experience deploying and maintaining VMWare Tanzu clusters
· Experience with containerization and microservices
· Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and infrastructure as code (IAC) principles
· Experience working with Kubernetes
· Must be a U.S. Citizen
· Must have and be capable of maintaining a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Clearance at the appropriate level.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and over 10 years DevSecOps work experience
· Experience Implemented CI/CD deployment pipelines for Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Kubernetes, re-factored software projects for integration in larger ecosystem of applications
· Experience implementing DevSecOps in a container ecosystem
· Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) platforms, like Terraform and Ansible
· Experience in Test Driven Development and Continuous Integration Environments
· Experience implementing DevSecOps pipelines in a VMware Tanzu environment.
