Job Description



The Senior Facility Planner plays a pivotal role in strategically optimizing the organization’s physical environments, ensuring their effective and efficient utilization. This position is integral to high-level decision-making processes in facility management, requiring the establishment and maintenance of strong relationships with various business units and a diverse array of stakeholders to align strategic objectives. Collaborating closely with leadership, the role involves devising and executing strategies to reorganize campus spaces to optimally address the evolving needs of business units. Key responsibilities encompass leading and mentoring a team of facility planners, upholding design standards, overseeing service requests for renovations ranging from small to large scale, spearheading front-end planning initiatives, and providing critical support to senior leadership in strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic alignment of facility planning with organizational goals by fostering strong relationships with stakeholders and ensuring transparent communication that acknowledges contributions and aligns with company values.
  • Spearhead data-driven decision-making by gathering and analyzing comprehensive data on space utilization, occupancy, and facility conditions to enhance planning activities.
  • Drive the optimization of space, resources, and infrastructure to ensure maximum efficiency, functionality, and cost-effectiveness across the organization.
  • Anticipate and assess current and future facility requirements by analyzing organizational growth trends and operational demands, ensuring space needs are met proactively.
  • Oversee the development of feasibility studies to evaluate current space usage and implement strategic improvements for increased efficiency.
  • Partner with organizational stakeholders to ensure facility planning is integrated with broader business objectives, leveraging space planning to optimize diverse business uses.
  • Direct the design and execution of floor plan development and collaborate with project management to produce accurate cost estimates for projects.
  • Formulate comprehensive plans for office and facility relocations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, timelines, and strategic objectives.
  • Articulate and present facility planning strategies to VP and Senior Leadership, leading high-level decision-making processes and championing sustainability initiatives for energy efficiency and resource conservation.
  • This role may be responsible for mentoring and developing associate planners and facility planning coordinators, providing guidance and fostering a culture of professional development while ensuring compliance with safety, building codes, and environmental standards.

Qualifications



 

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with a preferred field in Facility Management, Architecture, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Masters degree preferred.
  • A minimum of10 years of experience in space planning, facility management, or project management.
  • Knowledge of building codes, ADA, safety regulations, and sustainability practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • CAFM (Computer-Aided Facility Management), or similar space management program is a plus.
  • Proficiency in the MS Office Suite, including advanced skills in MS Excel.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • LEED Certification is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel with a travel requirement of 20%.
