Job Description

Key Responsibilities :

  • Conduct and oversee all phases of environmental site assessment and remediation projects, including initial site assessments, hydrogeologic investigations, development of conceptual site models, contaminant fate and transport analysis, remedial action design, and implementation.
  • Support and manage multiple projects from a remediation and environmental engineering perspective.
  • Independently handle project tasks such as marketing and business development, proposal creation, scope of work and schedule development, regulatory negotiations, subcontractor management, contract oversight, and budget management.
  • Serve as a technical resource for environmental remediation and engineering projects.
  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering design teams for civil/environmental projects.
  • Design and operate remediation systems, including in-situ remedies, cover systems, recovery and treatment, and waste management.
  • Collaborate with various agencies, clients, and internal and external team members and partners.
  • Mentor and work closely with junior-level environmental staff.
  • Assist with recruiting, development, and training of staff.
  • Perform quality reviews for environmental reports and deliverables.
  • Ensure accuracy, scope, budget, contracting, quality control and assurance, safety, reporting, schedule, and client expectations.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 7 years of related professional experience, preferably 10 years with environmental assessment and remediation projects for various clients.
  • Professional Geologist (PG) license or Professional Engineer (PE) License (Minnesota and/or Wisconsin preferred).
  • Experience with emerging contaminants of concern, including PFAS, and investigating coal combustion residuals (CCR) is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of geologic and hydrogeologic principles, conceptual site models, contaminant fate and transport, feasibility studies, corrective action design, civil and environmental engineering methods, permitting process, and construction compliance.
  • Experience with project management, environmental regulation, and agency coordination (EPA, state agencies, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to clearly communicate both verbal and written technical information and work effectively with various audiences.
  • Proficiency in computer software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet vehicle driving privileges standards.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training (and annual updates) required.
  • Ability to travel (potentially 15%), or as required.
