Job Title: Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist – Ophthalmology

Location (city, state): Remote (1 role must be based in PST; others can be located anywhere but must work PST hours)

Addison Group is partnering with a rapidly growing healthcare organization specializing in ophthalmology and retina services. This team is centralizing its billing operations and seeking experienced AR professionals to support full-cycle physician billing in a fully remote environment.

Job Description:

We are hiring two AR Specialists to join a remote revenue cycle team. These roles are responsible for full-cycle physician billing, including charge entry, claim submission, insurance follow-up, and denial resolution. Candidates must have ophthalmology or retina experience and be comfortable working independently in a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the coding team to ensure accurate claim submissions.
  • Perform charge entry and data entry into billing systems.
  • Follow up with insurance companies on unpaid or denied claims.
  • Work through billing queues to meet daily productivity targets (40–50 claims/day).
  • Handle both commercial and government payers across assigned facilities.
  • Support the authorizations team as needed.
  • Manage full-cycle physician billing, including appeals, edits, and rebills.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of revenue cycle experience on the physician (profee) side.
  • Required experience in ophthalmology and retina billing.
  • Strong understanding of commercial and government payer processes.
  • Proficiency with billing systems such as NextGen or NextTech.
  • Ability to work independently and meet productivity standards in a remote environment.
  • One candidate must reside in the Pacific Time Zone; others must be willing to work PST hours.

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM PST

  • Compliance: Background check and drug screen required
