Job Description

Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics). Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.

MUST HAVE:

Associate's Degree and 6 years of relevant experience

One of the following may be used as equivalent to Associate's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:

• NNS Apprentice School graduate
• Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
• High School/GED and 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience
• High School/GED and 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Senior Enlisted Naval Nuclear Operator.
• Knowledge of nuclear propulsion plant systems, operation, and maintenance.
• Good communication skills, self motivated, organized, attention to detail are highly preferred.
• Provide technical support to cognizant engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
• Interface with Shipyard project teams to create and manage aircraft carrier availability work packages.
• Evaluate feedback from Ships Force and shipyards to increase availability efficiency.
