Role Overview

The Manager – Sourcing & Supply Chain will be responsible for end-to-end procurement, vendor management, logistics, and supply chain execution for renewable (solar) projects. The role ensures timely delivery, cost optimization, quality compliance, and alignment with contractual requirements, including international sourcing and bidding support.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and execute sourcing and supply chain strategy aligned with project contracts and timelines.
2. Monitor project KPIs (cost, schedule, quality, safety) on a weekly basis and take corrective actions as required.
3. Ensure implementation of Quality, Environmental, and EHS plans for incident-free project execution.
4. Manage procurement activities in line with contractual and legal obligations; handle variations and change orders.
5. Take complete ownership of equipment sourcing, vendor & subcontractor management, and coordination with CHINT factories.
6. Manage manufacturing schedules, EXW/ETD shipments, logistics planning, and delivery tracking.
7. Coordinate advance payments, LC processes, drawings, QAP, engineering documents, and approvals.
8. Handle import/export documentation, customs clearance, and coordination with customer project teams on shipment ETA.
9. Finalize and manage freight forwarders and CHA; monitor shipments, duties, and taxes for project budgeting.
10. Support BD/Sales teams during bidding by providing sourcing strategy, pricing, and lead-time inputs.
11. Coordinate with China SCM and logistics teams; travel to supplier factories or project sites for inspections.
12. Ensure back-to-back coverage of warranty, guarantee, LDs, and penalties in vendor contracts.

Qualifications & Experience

1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
2. Minimum 10+ years of experience in sourcing and supply chain within the renewable/solar energy sector .
3. Strong experience in international sourcing and bidding .
4. Proven leadership and vendor negotiation skills.
5. Strong understanding of solar EPC supply chain, logistics, and regulatory requirements.
6. Financial acumen with experience in cost control and budgeting.
