Job Title: Lab Technician
Location: Lawrence, KS (5 days/week onsite)
Remote Flexibility: No
Rate Info - max pay of $25/hr
Contract Term: 12 months to start (potential for extension pending budget and performance)
Experience required: - Bachelor's degree
- 2-5-years' experience as a lab technician (industry or academia)
· Experience with biological assays. i.e. ELISA, HTRF, AlphaLISA, NanoBRET, Cell proliferation, Western Blot, etc.
Lab Technician - Biology: We are seeking an organized, motivated, and collaborative lab technician to join our client's Biological Sciences team. This individual will play a critical role in performing routine assays to characterize small molecule inhibitors. You will be responsible for generating and analyzing biological assay data to progress challenging ongoing drug discovery programs. You will work in a highly dynamic research laboratory and will collaborate with other scientists to achieve collective goals.
This position will report to a Senior Scientist, Biological Sciences, and work onsite at our research facility in Lawrence, Kansas
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for timely turnaround of routine cell-based high-throughput screening assays to characterize small-molecule inhibitors.
- Analyze, quality control and upload of data to internal software and electronic notebook.
- Responsible for documenting and updating assay protocols with validation data.
- Responsible for routine cell culture and maintenance.
- Participate in group meetings to keep up to date on program priorities.
- Responsible for maintaining needed laboratory supplies for routine assays.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in science related field
- 2-5-years' experience as a lab technician. Experience in a similar role in industry or academia is preferred.
- Experience with biological assays. i.e. ELISA, HTRF, AlphaLISA, NanoBRET, Cell proliferation, Western Blot, etc.
- Knowledge of lab safety and OSHA regulations and safety training.
- Exceptional organization skills, with a demonstrated ability to multi-task to enable many concurrent assays in a complex, fast paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability and willingness to work closely with other colleagues as a team, openness to new ideas.
- Motivated individual and willingness to take initiative, generate quality data and quick turnaround times.
