POSITION SUMMARY

Prime Landscaping & Snow Removal is seeking an on-site Junior Landscape Architect to join our dynamic team. This entry-level position is ideal for a creative and detail-oriented individual with strong design skills and a passion for landscape architecture. The Junior Landscape Architect will assist in the design and planning of landscaping projects, create detailed drawings and presentations, and collaborate with clients, project managers, and field crews to bring designs to life. Strong people skills are essential, as this role requires direct customer communication to understand project needs and present design concepts effectively.

OBJECTIVES

  • Assist in the development of landscape designs, conceptual plans, and construction documents.
  • Utilize AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) to produce detailed and visually compelling project presentations.
  • Communicate directly with clients to gather project requirements, present design concepts, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with project managers and field crews to ensure the successful implementation of designs.
  • Conduct site analysis, including surveys and environmental assessments, to inform design decisions.
  • Research materials, plant selections, and sustainable design solutions to incorporate into projects.
  • Support senior designers and architects in drafting and refining landscape plans.
  • Maintain organized documentation of project progress, revisions, and client feedback.
  • Ensure all design work aligns with industry standards, zoning regulations, and company quality expectations.
  • Continuously improve technical skills and stay updated on industry trends and software advancements.
  • Commit to continuous learning and professional growth through coaching, training sessions, and interactive learning modules.

COMPETENCIES

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients, team members, and contractors.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign (skills will be tested in Phase 2 of the interview process).
  • Ability to visualize and develop innovative, functional landscape designs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in both design and documentation.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Understanding of plant materials, hardscape elements, and sustainable design principles.
  • Ability to receive constructive feedback and apply it to design improvements.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited university (required).
  • 1-2 years of work experience is preferred but not required.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite (testing required in Phase 2).
  • Additional experience with any of the following software may positively impact starting salary:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to conduct on-site visits and field measurements.
  • Light lifting up to 20-30 lbs.
  • Occasional travel to job sites as needed.
