Position Summary

This is a key role within a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment. The ideal candidate is a hands -on CPA with 3-5 years of experience , including time spent in the bagel, restaurant, bakery, or broader hospitality industry . You’ll work closely with leadership and the private equity sponsor to drive financial performance, transparency, and discipline as we grow.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting functions, including GL, AP/AR, payroll, and month-end close

• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP

• Build and maintain financial models, forecasts, and scenario planning for leadership and PE stakeholders

• Drive budgeting, variance analysis, and margin improvement initiatives

• Ensure tax compliance and manage filings across jurisdictions

• Provide cost accounting insight (e.g., food, labor, waste, COGS) to help improve unit economics

• Serve as the finance point of contact for the private equity firm, supporting reporting and due diligence as needed

• Oversee audits, system implementations, and financial controls

• Partner cross-functionally with operations and strategy teams to support decision-making

Requirements

• Active CPA license

• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in the hospitality or food service (e.g., bagel shops, QSR, fast casual, restaurants)

• Strong command of cost controls, financial reporting, and multi-unit business operations

• Experience with accounting and POS systems (e.g., Toast, QuickBooks, NetSuite, Restaurant365)

• Solid Excel and financial modelling skills

• Comfortable working with private equity reporting standards and timelines
• Hands-on, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a private equity-owned or fast-scaling business

• Exposure to M&A, system integrations, or capital planning

• Familiarity with payroll platforms (e.g., ADP, Gusto, Toast Payroll)

• Multi-location or franchised business experience
