Job Description

This person will lead RCM operations for a physician-owned revenue cycle management company. Revenue cycle success has been a defining factor in their ability to remain independent.

Based in Northbrook, Illinois, our client serves hundreds of physicians and clinicians across the country. They are physician advocates, using powerful tools and features of modern EHR software to ensure physician clients receive the full payment they have earned.

Our client specializes in maximizing the collection of revenue physicians have earned for the services they have provided through comprehensive charge review, and tenacious pursuit of the full payment due. Their mission is to help practices devote more time to the care of their patients. Today our client provides RCM to many clients throughout the US and growing due to their success. This person would manage a team of over 55. This role involves leadership over the day-to-day operations of analyzing and improving billing, claims, and payment processes to enhance revenue generation and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads Revenue Cycle Director, managers and team members ensuring efficiency and compliance in all stages of the revenue cycle.
  • Maintains strong understanding of revenue cycle metrics and leads teams in building plans to support operational departments to achieve best practice performance through strong analytical capabilities, process improvement identification, and technology enhancements.
  • Develops long-range strategic plans for systems and processes that support a high performing, patient-centered revenue cycle.
  • Manages meetings with client leadership for metric, performance, and review.
  • Develops strategies to identify root causes surrounding client issues and concerns and works with teams and onsite leadership at client sites to create processes to address those issues and potential improvements.
  • Supports organizations growth through prospective client discussions and business analysis, development of proposals, or other documents describing services in response to requests from prospective clients, and contract management
  • Develops strategy to impact poor performance and directs the implementation and client buy-in for recommended solutions.
  • Exhibits strong problem solving and verbal and written communication skills, demonstrates the ability to manage conflict, and has a working knowledge of revenue cycle operations.
  • Provides direction on the incorporation of new providers and client practices into existing patient accounts workflows, with a focus on optimizing AR for the collections group
  • Responsible for measuring, monitoring, and meeting key performance indicators and departmental goals in accordance with the company's established policies and procedures and industry best practices.
  • Regularly provide CEO, Finance Director, client leadership, and revenue cycle staff with revenue cycle status including reports, key performance indicator metrics, and presentations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years progressive responsibility of revenue cycle along with a bachelor’s degree.
  • Demonstrated expertise in successfully leading and managing a high-performance back-end revenue cycle operation while meeting or exceeding industry benchmarks in a multi-site physician group setting.
  • Strong, in-depth knowledge of revenue cycle management principles and practices, including medical billing, coding, collections, managed care products, regulatory compliance, payer credentialing, and financial reporting.
  • Solid financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, trending, benchmarking, and financial analysis of the department performance. Strong skills in Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with EHR and practice management systems.
  • Complex knowledge of the impact of revenue cycle and accounts receivable management upon operating performance
  • Strong communication skills and ability to establish effective working relationships with key internal and external customers
  • Leadership skills to motivate cross-department team performance toward excellence
