Job Description
We're hiring a Network Engineer to join a leading telecom service provider based in Mt. Laurel, NJ, working on-site four days per week. This role focuses heavily on Layer 3 networking, supporting large-scale carrier-grade environments with technologies such as MPLS, BGP, ISIS, and Nokia networking solutions.
This is an opportunity to work at the core of a high-impact telecom network, where your expertise directly influences reliability, performance, and scalability. The team is looking for engineers who come from service provider environments and thrive in complex routing and protocol-driven networks. Contract Duration: 12 months (extendable contract)
What You Will Be Doing - Supporting and enhancing Layer 3 service provider networks
- Troubleshooting complex routing and MPLS-related issues
- Working hands-on with Nokia networking platforms
- Collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams
- Participating in documentation and continuous process improvement
- Providing on-call support during assigned rotations
Required Skills & Experience - Background working for telecom or network service providers
- Strong Layer 3 routing experience (ISIS, BGP)
- Hands-on MPLS experience clearly demonstrated on resume
- Network troubleshooting experience in production environments
- Scripting experience (any language)
- Telecom industry experience
- Nokia networking hardware hands-on experience (key OEM)
Desired Skills & Experience - Proficiency with Cisco, Juniper, and Nokia CLI & configuration
- Hands-on experience with MPLS, OSPF, and BGP
- Solid knowledge of ERO (Extensive Route Object)
- Strong understanding of IPv4, IPv6, and networking protocols
- Experience with Microsoft and Unix/Linux server environments
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- Preferred certifications: CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA
