Job Description
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for providing specialty behavioral health service advice to Department of Children & Families (DCF), Child Protective Investigators, and DCF Legal Staff. Attends multidisciplinary case staffing, interagency staffing, provides case consulting to CPIs, and assists in identifying community services to assist children and families related to mental health issues. Requires experience with related systems of care and knowledge of community resources. This position reports to the Vice President of Clinical Operations
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a Master’s degree from an accredited university or college in the field of counseling, social work, psychology or a related human services field and 5 years of post-master’s clinical experience. Florida LMHC or LCSW license required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides specialty behavioral health services and consultation to DCF Child Protective Investigators and DCF Legal Staff.
Participates in multidisciplinary case staffing and interagency staffing.
Assists in identifying community services to assist children and families related to mental health issues.
Provides screening, counseling, crisis intervention, and other interventions as necessary.
Demonstrates a working knowledge of cultural, social, religious and bio-psychological factors that impact individual and group definitions of self/individual.
Demonstrates skills in assessment of co-occurring disorders presented by clients.
Demonstrates the ability to provide appropriate interventions based on recovery and individual roles in the community.
Completes and documents assessments, integrated summaries, treatment plans and continuing care/discharge plans, diagnosis in a timely and professional manner.
Provides least restrictive but most appropriate treatment.
Demonstrates ability to facilitate individual, interpersonal and communal interactions within a group context.
Demonstrates skill in facilitating the exploration of continuing care issues.
Demonstrates ability to maintain knowledge of current trends in the field.
Displays sound theoretical knowledge of substance abuse treatment, psychopathology, and personality theory and growth and development.
Demonstrates a good theoretical understanding of family system theory.
Computer Literacy
Completes all training requirements in a timely manner.
Completes all other duties and special projects as assigned.
