The company was founded in Bethesda, MD in 2013, to bring fresh, made-from-scratch organic breads, pastries, sweets, and croissant items inspired by bakeries in France to the DMV area. We have expanded to seven retail locations, a production bakery, and a thriving wholesale business. We serve coffee shops, restaurants, hotels, and grocery stores with fresh products every day, 365 days a year .

We are growing and constantly looking for passionate people to join our team. We are seeking a dynamic team member to fill our position for Full-Time Baker at its Bethesda, Maryland bakery cafe (4919 Bethesda Ave, Bethesda, MD 20814).

This is an entry-level position. You will be provided all the necessary training to succeed.

Shifts

• 4:45AM – 1:00PM (You will bake from 4:45AM-7:00AM, then you will be a barista from 7:00AM-1:00PM)
• 6-8 Hour shift
• 5 Days a week including Saturday and Sunday

As a Baker/Barista you will be:

• Living by Fresh Baguette's core values: Integrity, Respect, Reliable, Team player, Committed, and Customer Oriented
• Providing friendly and prompt customer service
• Cash and credit handling at the cash register in a fun and efficient manner
• Offering product recommendations
• Baking all types of breads and baked goods
• Preparing products for the next day baking
• Organizing the freezer and fridge
• Packing away all delivery items
• Setting up the bread display
• Cleaning the baking station
• Maintaining store safety, sanitation and proper food storage
• Making and serving baked goods, sandwiches, salads, breads, and pastries with care
• Paying close attention to the way products are displayed throughout the day and to the cleanliness of the store
• Creating long-term relationships with customers

Requirements

• Must have authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
• Open Availability including weekends
• Availability to work Holidays - Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.
• Physical exertion requirement to perform heavy work (such as frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds)
• Strong communication skills
• Reliable transportation to work
• Ability to stand for 8 hours
• Must have 1-2 years of experience working in a fast-paced customer-facing food service environment
• Must be able to work independently
• Experience working at a café or bakery is a plus
