Role Overview

As an AV Design Engineer , you will be responsible for developing innovative, high-performance AV systems tailored to client needs. You will collaborate with sales, project managers, and clients to ensure solutions are designed effectively, efficiently, and within budget. Your keen analytical skills and detail-oriented approach will drive successful AV implementations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design comprehensive AV systems, including complex conference rooms, training rooms, auditoriums, and stadiums.
  • Develop audio designs, including sound masking and large-scale audio deployments.
  • Utilize CAD software to conceptualize and sketch designs prior to handoff to the Sales Team.
  • Apply industry standards and best practices to all designs while optimizing costs.
  • Conduct site surveys and pre-design walkthroughs with the Sales Team.
  • Support the Sales Team throughout the sales process, ensuring technical feasibility and compliance with client requirements.
  • Stay up to date with the latest AV technologies, manufacturers, and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with vendors and manufacturer representatives for pricing and product updates.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an AV Design Engineer.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and design documentation.
  • Experience with InfoComm CTS Certification (CTS-D preferred or willingness to obtain within 90 days of employment).
  • Experience with industry-standard design tools such as D-Tools .
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneNote).
  • Familiarity with major AV conferencing platforms, including LifeSize, Polycom, Tandberg, and Microsoft Teams .
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks is a plus.

  • Location: In-office position at 8399 E Hartford Dr, Scottsdale, AZ.
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced, technical, and collaborative team setting.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to sit for extended periods while working on design and documentation.
  • Travel Requirements: Minimal, as needed for site surveys or client meetings.
