Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Review and draft contracts related to freight forwarding, transportation, warehousing, distribution, and other logistics-related transactions as well as other commercial agreements such as non-disclosure agreements and supplier contracts.
  • Review and manage Company business-related matters and perform legal due diligence based on leading counsels' advice and guidelines from the Headquarter office in Seoul, South Korea.
  • Review and monitor the Company policies and government regulations for compliance purposes.
  • Report to Senior Counsel and the Business Management Department Head regarding contract management status and other matters under legal review.
  • Research and analyze essential certifications and licenses that the Company should obtain based on the business models the Business Management Department establishes and adopts.
  • Under the supervision of Senior Counsel, provide legal review of possible risks of new business schemes.
  • Assist Senior Counsel with litigation management.
  • Develop and negotiate necessary Commercial Insurances and provide support to the Department Head by suggesting proposals and solutions.
  • Conduct legal research on issues assigned by Senior Counsel.
  • Identify legal and operational risks in global logistics, freight forwarding, transportation, warehousing, distribution, and fulfillment, and effectively communicate these risks to senior leaders, business units in the U.S. and Korea, and support functions. Provide counsel on these matters and collaborate with Senior Counsel and the legal team at the headquarters in Seoul, South Korea, to implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Handle any other legal matters as assigned by senior management.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent from an accredited law school.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey and be in good standing.
  • CA Bar admission is a plus, but is not required.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience practicing law with a focus on corporate law.
  • Strong legal research skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with others and independently.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Bilingual in Korean/English preferred.
