The AML/Sanctions Consultant is responsible for analyzing anti-money laundering (AML) and sanctions-related alerts to ensure compliance with applicable regulations. The role involves conducting in-depth investigations, thoroughly documenting findings, and collaborating with various internal stakeholders (middle office, back office, front office).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review AML monitoring alerts to ensure compliance with BSA/AML regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct enhanced due diligence and investigations on clients or activities identified as potentially suspicious.
  • Analyze sanctions screening alerts generated from official watchlist filters.
  • Perform research on legal or natural persons in response to specific regulatory requests (e.g., FinCEN 314(a)).
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation to ensure audit trail visibility.
  • Contribute to other tasks assigned to the Investigations & Monitoring team.
  • Provide suggestions for process improvements and optimization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; ACAMS certification is a plus.
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in AML compliance or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. AML and sanctions regulations (e.g., OFAC).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and a good understanding of banking/financial products.
  • Familiarity with payment systems and related IT tools.
  • Eligible for remote work following a successful onboarding period.
